About Us

Locally owned and operated by Lynn Cathey & Sammy Naquin, we serve New Orleans’ favorite seafood dishes, best enjoyed with friends and family. In our New Orleans-themed restaurant, all our food is made from scratch with the freshest Louisiana and Gulf seafood. We have traditional New Orleans seafood dishes – fried and boiled – and local favorites like Crawfish Etouffee and Seafood Gumbo. Most of our menu is gluten-free, and although we’re known for our Giant Seafood Platters, Po-Boys, and White Chocolate Bread Puddin, we have many different options.

Cajun River Bistro is family-owned and operated and continues to offer the same tireless efforts and dedication to give our guests impeccable service and great-tasting food.

We always meet the highest standards of quality and freshness. Our very own creative seasoning combined with our traditional southern style of cooking offers our guest unique tasting and flavorful dishes that they come back to enjoy.

We are focused on every guest who comes through our doors. We want them to leave impressed by Cajun Cuisine and excited to come back again. We look forward to seeing you at Cajun River Bistro in Ashland City. We are casual and walk-in, no reservations are required for lunch or dinner.

About Lynn Cathey

Lynn was born and raised in White Bluff, TN, and has kept her roots there to this day. She has two amazing kids and three even more amazing grandkids.

Lynn’s family is very important to her, and they often have cookouts and movie nights and hang out on the porch talking about the family.

Lynn worked for A.O. Smith for 40 years and retired in 2023 when she worked part-time at the Hampton Inn Ashland City.

She has always considered opening a restaurant but never settled on anything until she met her best friend and decided to establish a Cajun restaurant. Lynn experienced Mardi Gras and New Orleans, and now she is hooked. Every year, she goes to Houma, LA, to ride in the Mardi Gras parade.

Lynn is very excited to showcase her skills and talents at Cajun River Bistro and cannot wait to welcome everyone in.

About Sammy Naquin

Sammy was born and raised in the deep south of Houma, Louisiana, where gators are your pets. When he was 18, he moved to New Orleans and started managing bars and restaurants on Bourbon St. After many years, he moved to Orlando, FL, with friends and started working for M&M World as “Yellow—the peanut M&M,” which was a hoot. He then went to work for Walt Disney World for 5 years as a Guest Service Manager for all of Disney.

Between these, he also worked in the hospitality industry for Hampton Inn. In 2021, he moved to Ashland City, TN, sight unseen and opened the Hampton Inn Ashland City. The first night he got to Ashland City, he went to a local restaurant and asked what there was to do in town on a Friday night. He was informed to go to Wal-Mart. The first thought was there was some kind of party with the disco ball dropping, but that was not the case.

He joined the Cheatham County Chamber of Commerce and made some of the best friends he could ever ask for.  As President of the Chamber, he was very involved and truly loves giving back to the community.

This is also when he met Lynn who he didn’t realize would become his best friend and now a business partner. They talked day in and day out about what was needed, and ended up at the Cajun River Bistro. Creating the menu and the name of the food reminds him of New Orleans. He is so excited to open Cajun River Bistro to offer a different variety of food to residents of Ashland City, Cheatham County and even Middle Tennessee. Stop in and say hey – you never know what will happen at Cajun River Bistro.
